How will the heroes of Burning Man be monumentalized? The idea for this project was born of this year�s theme, the Metropolis, and artist Briana Schweizer�s musing on what a Burning Man monument might embody.
An ever-changing monument to the people of the Metropolis, this 'humanument' allows participants the opportunity to become a heroic part of Burning Man history. Climbing abreast this figure-sized plinth, everyone may embody a version of themselves as monument for the city. Participants may choose to don a statuesque costume, write out their epitaph on a magnetic plaque then ascend the plinth and strike a pose or be The Man. From this grand vantage, you may gaze imperiously at passers by, look down upon your adoring minions, or let your beneficence shine. Each participant may choose to photograph themselves with a remote, freezing themselves in time for all to admire.
