IONGOD PHOTOGRAPHY--Sheila Wilkerson
About Sheila Wilkerson…
At the early age of 12, I fell in love with photography. I was the only one in my family who could get everyone in the picture without cutting off their heads, limbs, etc. I would come to understand this was called composition (framing what you want included into a photo image). My father recognized my passion and bought my first professional film camera, a Nikon F-1. I soon learned to develop and print images at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. Zoning in on my given talent, I became a Photo Lab Instructor for the City of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Photo Center. In the early 1980’s I was employed by The William Grant Still Art Center and ‘Black Radio Magazine’ photographing personas such as Stephanie Mills, Ray Parker Jr, and songstress Denise Williams. In 1986, after serving in the US Army as Battalion Newspaper Photographer, I traveled back to Frankfurt, Germany to live and manage a Kodak Photo Studio & Lab Center. In 2006, after following a calling from God, my Lord, I traveled to Ghana, West Africa, while on a spiritual and medical mission, I photographed life there. It was there that I received my purpose; that I could use photography to glorify God. Upon my return, I founded IONGOD Photography. I once read, “God writes His signature on each sunset and on each of His unique children as well." I will photograph God’s beautiful signature, and create pictorials directed at the eyes and heart.
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same spirit distributes them.
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord..
There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and
in everyone it is the same God at work. Corinthians 12:4-6 (NIV)
