In 1993, after 50 years of producing quality cement and mortar mixers, the mixer division of Monarch Industries was purchased by Crown Construction Equipment of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. After establishing new production facilities in Winnipeg, Crown began the process of retooling and adding new technology and innovation to the years of experience possessed by Monarch. In the Spring of 1997, Crown added its first new product line: the Screed King line of power screeds and magnesium screed bars. Since then the Screed King has established itself as a market leader in quality and dependability. Winter of 1998 saw the introduction of the Heat King - Mobile Glycol Heating System. Used in Canada and the Northern United States the Heat King allows contractors to continue working through the winter months by offering a low cost and easy method of ground thawing and concrete curing on any construction project, large or small.
