the-TAPROOT.org
My passion for global networking has recently bred a coalition of online activists who want to help change the international media landscape. This network, known as The-Taproot.org, is a virtual movement for global media reform that uses next generation ICT4D (Information and Communication Technologies for Development) vision. This movement is gaining momentum by promoting resource and information exchange scenarios using GPEBM (Global Political Entertainment Business Management) consultations. This media production formula is designed to create content with a more profound fusion of news and entertainmentcovering local/social interests all the way up to reports on international politics. We are currently coding a media reycling/hybrid media production interface for our international members to assemble virtual media roots (instead of commercial channels). These roots will provide global access to local information in a private user-driven/regulated community; the content and traffic driven to the-taproot.org will be used for independent research on the digital divide, as well as remedies to cultural backlashes from commercial globalization. As freelance contributions poor in, independent producers will be recognized in a medium known as The-Taproot, the communal space where glocal news and entertainment are produced by people. The name was inspired by the botanical structure that is the source of growth and development for natural processes; moreover, our aim in developing the cybernetic version of this structure is to use technology for the advancement of humanitys capabilities. The limited beta version of the-taproot should launch by fall 2009.
Until then, we are editing our first full length documentary about media activism in Europe (Primarily Italy and Holland) where we recently investigated grassroots communication. The struggles we studied in this expedition, namely; barriers to local media production, backlash from concentrated media ownership, and international media synergy; are representative of our broader mission to discover new ways to use basic technology for greater social, political, and cultural organization. We want to share our research and resources with pro-active people, organizations, parties, companies, and institutions that share a common desire to reform the neo-capitalist emphases of 20th century globalization. My friends and I firmly believe that if we stay dedicated to our vision to create an ideal world order, that we will in fact prevail in guiding new harmonious global politics in the 21st century.
The-Taproot will be dedicated to my incredible parents, whowith their invaluable life experiences have helped me realize my potential to change the world with a little help from my friends.

Taproot Farm
We believe that nourishment must be a community effort. The effort begins with farmers who use organic practices to protect the health of their farm. Farmers and consumers must understand that the unbroken cycle between feeding the soil properly and feeding ourselves properly is the taproot of healthy communities. We believe that food has a sense of place and that the farmers who grow it are beholden to the people who eat it. We believe proper nourishment comes from consumers eating fresh food. And so the responsibility of nourishment is in all our hands.
