Staph Epidermidis
Of the known thirty three species of Staphylococcus, staph epidermidis is one of the specie. It is not rare to us and remains with us as a part of our skin flora. Therefore it is a part of the human flora. Staph epidermidis is also found in the animals. When lab tests are conducted the very specie is most commonly found in them. Those people whose concern is surgical plants and the catheters, this problem is very severe as it is known to be a cause of the biofilms that thrive and sustain on these devices. This bacterium was discovered by a scientist, F.J. Rosenbach in the year 1884. This microorganism is rude in nature, meaning to say that it is hard in characteristic and contains two cells that are next to each other. The color of the bacterium is white and it forms it forms its colonies (colonialisation is not perished- it's still there at least in bacteria). Their colonies range from one to two micrometer. When a nitrate reduction test is conducted the bacteria shows a positive weak reaction to that.. It utilizes glucose, lactose and sucrose forming products that are acidic in nature.
