Maybe it's because they speak to the part of us that dreams of starting over somewhere else - somewhere out there - that sagas about space pioneers grab our attention. We open them eager to discover rare frontiers and viable new visions. We imagine, as we do with the Genellan books, dealing with alien landscapes and life-forms, and fighting for our right to survive.
