Historic Route Sixty-Six starts in Chicago IL and winds it way through Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California where it ends just past Los Angeles in Santa Monica. Some parts of the US Route 66 have been turned into interstates or major highways, some parts are simple two lane road and small sections are not open to auto traffic any longer.
