Ambo.infra Design, selected works by Michelle Fornabai exploring architecture, fashion, textiles, wearables, conceptual art, concrete poetry and painting. Current works by M.Fornabai at amboinfradesign: Soft Structures: mothcloth, petalpant, and napnap Rorschach Blot Paintings and Concrete Poetry: projective drawing, mock materials, the latent poetry of specifications. Excerpts from Fornabai’s writing on emergent technologies and sensory perception explore agnosia, autism, chirality, flaws, hibernal, idiosyncrasy, laterality, the latent poetry of specifications, mock materials, phasing, projective drawing, Rorschach and sleep. Michelle Fornabai has exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art at Altria, Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, and the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans. She has lectured at the Whitney Museum, Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, the San Francisco Art Institute and has been published in Surface and Praxis. Her work has been supported by grants from the Graham Foundation for the Arts, the LEF Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. A graduate of Princeton University, she currently teaches at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University and has taught previously at The Rhode Island School of Design, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
