Leticia Maria Piloto is a graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism (B.S., 1999), and of Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center (J.D., 2003). While at Nova Southeastern, she traveled to Cambridge, England and participated in the Summer Abroad Program focusing her studies in International Law and Corporate matters. Leticia also served as an elected board member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, as well as a member of the Hispanic Law Students Association. During her last year at Nova Southeastern, Ms. Piloto served as a Law Clerk at the national law firm of Duane Morris, LLP, where she was assigned to the Sports and Entertainment Division, as well as the Tort Litigation Practice.
Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Piloto served as the Law Clerk to Honorable Judge Fredricka G. Smith of the 11th Circuit Court of Miami-Dade County, Florida. During her clerkship, Ms. Piloto participated in civil trials including but not limited to medical malpractice, civil theft, and products liability. Additionally, Ms. Piloto conducted legal research and writing on the trial and appellate level of the Circuit Court.
In 2004, Ms. Piloto joined the Law Offices of Richard S. Gendler & Associates, P.A. as an Associate where she successfully represented clients in matters involving mortgage foreclosures, civil theft, contracts, probate, landlord and tenant matters, lemon law, collections, and quiet title actions. Ms. Piloto also represented clients in bankruptcy, real estate transactions, arbitration and administrative hearings. Additionally, Ms. Piloto participated in the formation of guardianships, will, trusts, and business contracts.
Ms. Piloto continues to represent clients in diverse matters with the establishment of this boutique law firm in 2008.
Ms. Piloto is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, as well as, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
She is also a member of the Florida Bar Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Section, Cuban-American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association/Young Lawyer’s Section, and the Doral Business Council.
Ms. Piloto is fluent in Spanish.
