This is the professional site of Erik Vorhes. Erik has more than five years of experience in web design and development. He believes that the web should be accessible, readable, and usable and that design is most beautiful when it calls attention to content instead of itself. To those ends, his prioritizes grid-based layouts and precise typography in his design work. Erik’s development expertise lies in semantic (X)HTML, well-crafted CSS, and reusable code. He employs unobtrusive JavaScript to enhance interaction on the web and develops on open platforms, including blogs in WordPress and social and administrative applications in Django. Erik is also an accomplished teacher, scholar, and writer. He holds a master of arts degree in new media, textual studies, and medieval English literature from Loyola University Chicago.
