Working as a professional designer, illustrator and art director for the entertainment industry for ten years, I've had the opportunity to produce work for a number of clients and studios...
But I’ve always had a love for the horror genre along with a desire for painting, illustration and design. I can remember staring at length, when I was younger, at the illustrated record cover of Walt Disney Studio’s, Chilling Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House, the images possessing my imagination. Later, the painted graphics of horror movie posters and VHS covers would compel me. Halloween held no exception; the illustrated décor of dancing skeletons, witches and ghosts stirred the dark side of my imagination.
More and more, I find these hand drawn and painted graphics harder to come by. It’s disappointing to see the photo-manipulated image replacing this rich and charming aesthetic.
Though most of my personal work is created digitally using a Cintiq, I strive to work in a traditional fashion with the intension of creating images with a distinct hand drawn feel.
