IN EKPHRASIS (Beta)
A number of artists, curators, writers, poets
were asked to contribute a piece of fiction about art. Conceived as an elastic category rather than a restricting parameter, the term fiction was appropriated in order to circumvent common conventions of description, theorization, and interpretation in the field of art writing. Whether writing about a work recently experienced or a piece long disassembled the contributors were invited to engage (interfere, invent, challenge, embellish) an artwork of their own choosing - showing their own hand (body and mind) in the interaction, rather than attempting to hide its existence.
