Life in the Spirit Seminar on June 4, 2011 DONT MISS IT click here for more information Saint Dismas Guild is a Catholic non-profit organization whose mission is to bring Jesus Christ, the Word of God, to the broken, the lost and the lonely, the sick and the imprisoned. St. Dismas Guild is pro-life and pro-family in union with the magisterium of the Catholic Church. Inspired by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, St. Dismas Guild began with the inspiration of Deacon Ken and Marie Finn to evangelize the poorest of the poor by writing and distributing a Catholic Bible Study (The Bread of Life) free of charge to prisoners and those who cannot afford it. Operating only by donations and volunteer workers, St. Dismas Guild now prepares, transcribes, publishes and distributes teaching aids and commentaries on Holy Scripture as well as a number of other books and materials that promote Catholic family values. As founders of St. Dismas Guild, Deacon Ken and Marie Finn sponsor and organize pro-life and pro-family conferences in connection with Benedictus for Men and Strong Women of God for Women; lead a Bible Study each Wednesday evening; provide counseling in cooperation with the Culture of Life Family Services, and organize and pray outside Planned Parenthood in Escondido and an abortion clinic in San Marcos. Community of Solitude
We are a non-canonical ecumenical monastic community dedicated to serving our local communities through prayer, silence and solitude. We share a common spiritual life of solitary prayer, and are united through the Rule of Benedict and our Constitution, in the daily recitation of the Divine Offices, Lectio Divina, and in the common study of the writings of the of the Desert Fathers and Mothers, and the Camaldolese saints.
