Maryann Pacula & Corporate Services
It was an idea whose time had come facilities project management. Until the early 80s, corporations could afford a facilities staff. This changed during one of our Bay Area recessions. Out-sourcing a corporate relocation was a lot less expensive. On the seen came Maryann Pacula, an experienced tenant improvement developer/project manager. Itel Corporation (a high flying San Francisco-based computer leasing and financial services in the 70s) created and developed many CEOs since its inception in 1968 prior to its slide in 1979. About 20 of these new CEOs had worked with Maryann during some of that time. They trusted her with their new companies and encouraged her to hang her own shingle out so she could aid their efforts in expanding and relocating their companies. In March 1983 the Corporate Services shingle was out, and three days later Johnson ScanStar Shipping was her first client. This project was followed by CIS Computer Leasing Corporation, Triton Container International and Long & Levit. Between the 1979 slide and 1983, Maryann's background and experience were rounded out by her worked at Charles Schwab & Co. managing their construction in San Francisco and building ten field offices around the country. The rest is a Corporate Services' 25-year history.
