CiC - Chicago Intercollegiate Council
The Chicago Intercollegiate Council is an organization of youth working for youth. Its beginning can be traced to a group of local university Polish clubs, which had sent their delegates to a national body, the Polish Students and Alumni Association of America. This nationwide organization founded in 1927 had been financed by the Kosciuszko Foundation, a 501(c) (3) national not-for-profit nonpartisan and nonsectarian educational and cultural organization. When World War II began, this support was withdrawn. As conventions ceased on the national level, students and alumni of twelve Chicago area universities and colleges formed the Chicago Intercollegiate Council in 1938 to better serve the ever-increasing needs of the youth in the metropolitan area.
