Thehelen, an iconic webpainting by Jinn Hoang. To emulate the Mona Lisa's iconic value, I created this webpainting of Thehelen using the ingenious technology of the computer. So what is a webpainting you might ask? Well, webpainting is the process of making image on the worl-wide-web. A website that is also a painting. Webpainting provokes the existing expectation of what is a painting and challenges the ideas of what is a website. My webpaintings are created with pure html coding, pixel drawing and manipulation of color and values on a computer using graphic handling softwares. Thehelen is the name i chose for this piece. Unlike Leonardo da Vinci who had more than 400 years to make his Mona Lisa to be one of the most recognizable pieces of artwork in the whole wide world, I only have the world-wide-web.
