N.W. Gibbons
N. W. Gibbons is a fine photographic artist who has been a life long resident of Westport, Connecticut. Mr. Gibbons has worked in large format non-digital photographic media since the mid-1970’s, and since 1999 has produced work using a number of different 19th century photo processes. Mr. Gibbons creates very large tintypes and ambrotypes, both as single images and also in diptych and triptych formats.

My approach to photography is broad and varied; having studied at Winchester School of Art and later taught photography to students across the art and design spectrum I am fortunate to use these influences to feed my passion for photography.I am based in Colden Common near Winchester, where I live with my wife and three young children. I specialise in contemporary children’s portraits. Having photographed my family extensively I have a playful approach enabling me to naturally engage with children on their level. It is this, I hope, that makes for some uniquely stunning photographs.I also offer affordable photography for individuals and businesses requiring images for web, catalogues, brochures and magazine use. I am equally at home working on location with natural light or flash, using a portable studio set up or working in my home based studio.Remaining true to a fine art background I continue to make photographic projects that often reflect environmental concerns. In addition to this I have a fascination with popular art and culture, which informs my photographs of the ordinary and everyday. Some of this work has been exhibited or published and prints are available to purchase.More recently I am developing work based around ‘creative gatherings’ such as music festivals and exhibitions and find myself drawn to environments where the line between the spectator and participant blurs.
