VIEWING PHOTOS You navigate to the gallery you want by clicking on the appropriate thumbnails. Photos in each gallery are sorted alphabetically. If the file name includes the person's first name, as in most of these galleries, the photos are sorted alphabetically by the person's first name.
E-MAILING PHOTOS You can e-mail photos to friends or yourself. When you have a photo selected you just click on the SHARE button at the top of the page and enter the e-mail address to which you want to send the photo. E-mailed photos (and photos on the gallery pages) contain a watermark, but that does not prevent the person receiving the e-mailed photo from enjoying it.
PURCHASING PHOTOS You can purchase a single photo by clicking on the BUY button at the top of the page (once you have the photo selected) and then click on the "This photo" line. To purchase several photos from a single gallery just click on the BUY button with the gallery open and click on the "Photos in this Gallery" line. A new window will appear on which will indicate prices and those sizes which are available. Prints are made at a professional photo lab in California and shipped directly to you. They charge me less for prints than I can print them myself, which keeps my prices as low as possible. I receive an e-mail telling me about your order but I do not see the prints before they are sent to you. If you are ever unhappy about the prints you receive please let me know and give me the opportunity to make a print that you like, or to refund your money. Your satisfaction is important to me.
I tend to "fill the frame" when shooting equine photos. The "frame" or sensor is a ratio of 4x6. This means that if you want an 8x10 print for a scene where I have filled a 4x6 (or 8x12) space you will have to crop off some of the scene at one or both ends. To avoid this cropping you might consider ordering an 8x12 instead of an 8x10. This is especially true with equine photos shot from the side.
When processing sports photos I try to crop them in the 4x6 size — but some shots do not crop well in that format. For those (others) I crop in a 4x5 format. It is easy to tell which are which when you see them on the website. For the 4x5 format you should order them in the 4x5 size which you can do by clicking the "other sizes" button at the top of the window. Otherwise they will get cropped to the 4x6 size and you will end up clipping off some of the important parts of the photo.
AND I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU CHOSE THE METALLIC FINISH FOR YOUR PRINTS. THEY ARE AWESOME!
If you find that purchasing photos directly from the website is daunting and you just don't want to deal with learning how to do it — or if you don't have a credit/debit card to use to purchase prints from this website — just let me know what you want by e-mail, snail mail or phone call (photo number, event or game where you found it, size, and quantity) and I'll make the prints you want and send them to you.
If you want something special (very large display prints, composites, retouching to remove distractions in the background or foreground, etc.) please give me a call and let me know what you have in mind.
PRICE CHANGES: It has become necessary for me to increase my print prices. Most print orders are for just a few small prints, and at $2/print it just isn't working out for me. For new galleries made after November 1, 2010 the basic price will be $4.00 for a 4x6 or 4x5 print. Prints of larger sizes will also be correspondingly higher priced. For large orders I will do something extra like provide digital files or an enlargement as a thank you. Orders for prints from galleries made before November 2 will continue to be filled at the old, lower prices.
PURCHASING DIGITAL FILES High-resolution digital files of equine photos for farm advertising or website use cost $30 for one photo, $50 for six photos, and $100 for 15 photos. If the photo is going to be used for a commercial use (calendars, commercial ads, etc.) please call me so we can discuss an appropriate price. When photos taken by me are used in any publications (print or electronic) they must carry an appropriate photo credit. Digital files cannot be purchased through this website — you need to call or e-mail me and tell me what you need.
Digital files for high school and middle school sports photos FOR WHICH YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED PRINTS are available, but not through this website. You again need to call or e-mail me to tell me what you want or need. The cost is negotiable and ranges from $30 for a single image to zero for very large print orders (50 prints or more).
Digital files for College and University sports photos are generally not available due to the restrictions put on the use of my photos by the respective schools.
REMOVAL OF PHOTO GALLERIES It is my intention to leave these galleries up on my website for a year before removing them. This will facilitate choosing photos for the yearly albums which are becoming more popular. But we are all busy, and I urge you to make any photo purchases you need at the end of each sports season instead of waiting until next year's season starts. It is so easy to think there is plenty of time and then, all of a sudden, find that the photos you wanted to buy are no longer up on this website.
