End Of Innocents
End of Innocents is an original 22 x 24 inch (50.8 x 60 cm) oil painting. The painting is intended to juxtapose the Roman methods of birth and preserving life (cesarean procedure) with their (anecdotally) preferred method of bringing death (execution by crucifixion). It was conceived, designed and executed in 1989 as a consequence of observing competing pro life and pro choice protests and protesters outside of a Bethesda, Maryland abortion clinic. It was not intended to take a political or philosophical position on the issue of abortion or as to any other religious doctrine, be it Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or others.
