Einat Imber
Einat Imber is an israeli arist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Her sculptures and installations strive to create a symbiotic relationship between materials inherit traits and their configuration into a form. The materials in the sculpture include wood, driftwood, steel, copper, bronze, brass, textile, fabric, thread, rope, clay, plaster, paper, book, hardware, nail, staples, matches, clamps, faucet, caster wheel, knife, chainlink fence, fence, eggcrate louvres and onion. The sculptures draw from organic elements and often imitate the order found in nature. The art represents a frozen moment in time. The installation is often suspended in space and explore notions of gravity, weight, balance and stablity. Einat Imber attened the Israeli Art and Science Academy in Jerusalem, Israel. She received her BFA from the Cooper Union in New York with a semester abroad at Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, France. She did residency at the Vermont Studio Center. Her work was included in the group project Tall Paul at Guild and Greyskull gallery in Manhattan, Flex Your Textile at John Connelly Presents Gallery, Current Gallery in Baltimore Maryland, Woodstock Byrdcliff Gallery in the James Kleinert Art Center in Woodstock New York, A.I.R. Gallery 8th Biennial, and the Crest Hardware Art Show. Her solo installation Mortar was on view at the Central Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library.
