The Best In Traditional/Dixieland Jazz
While the Band is only in its fifteenth year, the history goes back to the 1950s when some of the musicians played in Manchester's Zenith Six. The band has since become well established with performances at jazz clubs and festivals at home, Europe and Scandinavia, in fact we are now frequent visitors to Norway which included, in August 1997, performances at the Tall Ships Race. The band has accompanied Yank Lawson and Humphrey Lyttelton, and our several Concerts with Marion Montgomery resulted in recording a CD with her, 'Makin' Whoopee', which features Marion on eight tracks. This CD has had plays internationally and is available, like all our recordings, World Wide. We also recorded 'A Jazz Tale of Two Cities' for our friend George Buck's Jazzology Label (New Orleans). Our video, A Jazz Club Session was filmed in 1989 and has since been shown on Russian and Bulgarian TV. Our CD & Cassette 'T'aint't Nobody's Bizness If We Do' has proved to be very popular and still has plenty of radio plays.
