Chip Vayenas is a top call drummer and percussionist whose musical, dynamic, solid and supportive playing has afforded him the opportunity to perform in widely varied settings throughout his entire musical career.
Based in Austin, TX, Chip is currently the drummer for Austin’s own eight-piece original soul band, Mingo Fishtrap. Performing across the U.S. and Europe, Mingo Fishtrap averages 100 shows annually and has shared the stage with such renowned artists as Sting, Little Richard, Annie Lennox, Delbert McClinton, The Neville Brothers, Blues Traveler, Galactic, The Wailers, Little Feat, Ozomatli, The Dirty Dozen Brass band and many more. They are currently working on a new album due to be released in 2010.

2011 Baton Rouge Blues Festival
The Baton Rouge Blues Festival is one of the oldest blues festivals in America. It originated in 1980, first held on the campus of Southern University on The Bluffs – the most beautiful view of the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge. The festival honors the legend of home-grown blues artist like Slim Harpo, Rudy Richard, Silas Hogan, Whisperin’ Smith, Guitar Kelly, Schoolboy Cleve, Chewin’ Gum Johnson and Raful Neal.
