ourpapers.info - Accurate Collaborative Tracking for Deformable Objects Our goal is to accurately track a single region under non-linear deformation and occlusions. When the ROI is initialized, instead of tracking it in a single tracker, we divide the ROI to a grid representation, and each element on the grid is a particle filter tracker. So the initial ROI now contains multiple trackers having the same size next to each other. In the tracking process, some of the trackers may fail due to deformation and occlusions. Bayesian Network is used here, to decide who fail and who survive, based on the trackers spatial-temporal dependency relationship. The method allows surviving trackers to keep going, in the meanwhile help re-initialize the failing trackers in an automatic way. We implemented the proposed collaborative tracking algorithm such that each of its trackers is a particle filter with 100 particles/samples. The motion parameter to be estimated for each tracker is its location (x, y) and rotation r. Our C# implementation of the tracker network runs at 25fps on a Quad Core 2.66GHz desktop for 512 * 640 pixel frames. We performed experiments on different image modalities including thermal, visual, and MRI imagery. These extensive experiments have demonstrated the accuracy and robustness of the tracker network; specifically, its capability to deal with partial occlusions and non-rigid deformations in different image modalities.
