Michele Connor
Michele Connor was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1954. As an American, Michele left Japan for the first time in 1972 to attend the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where she majored in Painting and graduated with a BFA. While at USC, Michele won several awards, including a scholarship award for Outstanding Student in Fine Arts. Unable to support herself with her painting upon graduation, and being fully bilingual, Connor spent the next 15 years working on and appearing in Japanese TV documentaries and commercials. In 1989, Michele Connor moved to Mexico to paint full time. She has since had several art exhibitions in Mexico, New York, and Los Angeles. Connor's art exhibitions have generated a great deal of controversy over her strong social themes and use of religious imagery. Michele continues to live and work with near San Miguel de Allende with her Dalmatians.
