The Environmental Design Research Association is an international, interdisciplinary organization founded in 1968 by design professionals, social scientists, students, educators, and facility managers. The purpose of edra is the advancement and dissemination of environmental design research, thereby improving understanding of the interrelationships between people, their built and natural surroundings, and helping to create environments responsive to human needs.

Aimee N. Epstein is an architectural designer focusing on visual and physical connectivity in her designs, as well as the production of atmosphere through light and shadow. Her work from Harvard University and the University of Michigan display her exploration in these areas. Through challenging traditional organizational strategies, she strives to create contradicting experiences that inspire curiousity and heighten one\\\\\\\'s sense of place. Aimee has also been involved professionally with several faculty members and collegues from Harvard University on small to medium scale design projects.
