Al Berard Cajun Combo
Al Berard Cajun Combo is the latest project from Al Berard, known for his work in the Basin Brothers, the well established Cajun band from Louisiana. This newly formed trio is Al’s string project in which Cajun music comes to life in its essence, not only with the traditional fiddle component, but with mandolins (including the rare octave mandolin) as well. Al plays fiddle here in the trio, but also gets to add his long time love of mandolin playing (having added it to many Cajun recordings) into the mix. Mark Trichka is a superior mandolin player as well, having explored many styles over the years, including bluegrass, jazz, and Brazilian choro music, with decades of live and studio experience. His wife Lisa Brande is also a pro and full time musician of 20 years, and fiddler of many styles as well as singer, rhythm guitarist and octave mandolinist.
