Searchable website of the picture library run by the Preston-Mafham family.
All but a handful of the pictures in the library the work of the partners, Rod
Preston-Mafham, his wife Jean and his brother Ken. We do all of our work
in the wild, so that our subjects are seen on their natural, rather than
contrived, backgrounds. A great deal of time and effort is put into the
identification and naming of our subjects, using specialists from around
the world. Since we took the photographs you can be sure that our captions
are both meaningful and accurate. As well as taking pictures Rod and Ken
are also prolific writers, with 25 books on natural history subjects
already published, the largest of these totalling 250,000 words. So, if
you want informative text as well as excellent pictures then make us your
first contact.
SPECIALITIES: Our greatest strength lies in our coverage of insects and
spiders, especially with regard to the often complex and bizarre behaviours
exhibited by these creatures.
