Plastic Bags takes between 20 to 1000 years to decompose. Plastic bags kill large numbers of wildlife every year- including jellyfish, birds, whales, and seals. Several countries and cities worldwide have imposed taxes or bans on the use of plastic bags. Keeping in mind world demand, Fibres Canada has taken initiative to produce and supply eco-friendly bags instead of plastic bags.
