Bethel Holiness Church in Columbus Indiana
Bethel Holiness Church is a traditional Holiness Church which was founded in 1977 by Reverend and Mrs. Robert E. Thompson Sr. Together, they ministered in the Columbus area for 40 years until their retirement in the fall of 2008. Their ministry saw the purchase of the present campus located on Highway 31 just outside Columbus, Indiana. The church building was constructed in just 7 weeks after the completion of the foundation and has been the place of worship through the present time.
In December of 2008, the congregation called Reverend Nathan D. Shockley to be their pastor. He and his wife, Darla, along with their four children, Quint, Adam, Kyrsta and Connor have accepted the challenge of continuing the ministry of Bethel Holiness Church and School and are now the leaders of this forward looking congregation. In anticipation of the new pastor, the church built a new brick parsonage next to the church, which was completed shortly before Reverend Shockley and his family moved to take of the pastorate. It was a beautiful addition to an already picturesque campus.
