The Church of Elvis, Art by Ian Dunlop
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, alternative artist and alternative country musician Ian Dunlop has created 'the Church of Elvis' an art installation paying homage to the king of Rock'n'Roll. Ian Dunlop is known for his long association with Gram Parsons the prince of alternative Country music. Ian Dunlop and Gram Parsons were members of the International Submarine Band considered to be the first alternative Country band. Ian Dunlop was also a founder member of 'the Flying Burrito Brothers' along with Gram Parsons.
Ian Dunlop's art works often feature iconic American music greats, paricularly 1950s artists using their lyrics and images to comment on contemporary, post-millennial life.
