Khausak Music Group plays Traditional Andean Music concerts around San Diego and its surroundings. Listening to Khausak is a journey into the past a travel before modern civilization as we know it today; listening to the melodies of Khausak allows us to transcend into a visionary journey of unspoiled beauty of nature and it's guardian . . . the Inca descendants relying on oral tradition, their voices carrying their history and pass it down from one generation to next through the sound of their captivating harmonies spreading love, and singing their tales of sorrow and happiness while been caress by the highland winds of the amazing Andes mountains and flowery fields.
You can see them playing at the Seaport Village in downtown San Diego Harbor. Or see them around one of the many San Diego Street Fairs such Hillcrest Street Fair, Encinitas HWY 101 Street Fair. Other times during various holydays celebrations such as ‘Cinco de Mayo at Old Town,’ ‘Balboa Park December Nights also known as Christmas (Xmas) at the Prado,’ Carlsbad by the Sea. Members of the group get commission to play outside San Diego area and they travel as far as El Indio Tamales Festival (Highway 111 and Indio Boulevard), Pomona - L.A. County Fair (Plaza de Las Americas Stage), Fresno Fairgrounds - The Big Fresno Fair - (Grounds Entertainment) and even in Yuma Arizona at the ‘Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area.’”
Khausak Musical Group Biography. A brief story of how Khausak came to be; Khausak founder is Manuel Morocho and the group is integrated by family members that learnt to play a few wood wind instruments found in the highlands of Ecuador; the Andes. Khausak background and heritage roots goes back to the Inca Empire; their mother tongue is Quichua and followed by spanish. Excerpt: “I received an invitation in 1990 on behalf of the ‘;SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION’ to attend the ‘World Festival of Music and Dance’ in which I participated and had exchanges with different cultures from around the world.
In 1992, I participated in the Exposition of Native Music of the Quichuas of Ecuador, Peru y Bolivia, organized by the ‘SAN DIEGO MUSEUM OF MAN.’
During 1993 through 1999 I have participated in different states like Arizona, Nevada (Las Vegas), New Mexico, Hawaii and California with the North American Native Indians where there have always been exchanges of cultural manifestations.
I have been able to achieve all these activities in conjunction with my brethren of the ‘Cacha Pueblo,’ we have grown together and are direct representatives of our ‘indigenous pueblos,’ undertaking our projects under the name of ‘GRUPO DUCHICELA’ or Duchicela Group.”

Recibí una invitación en el año 1990 por parte del Instituto ‘SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION’ al ‘Festival Mundial de Música y Danza’ en donde compartí e intercambié con diferentes culturas del mundo.
En el año de 1992 participé en ‘SAN DIEGO MUSEUM OF MAN’ con la Exposición de la Música Nativa de los pueblos Quichuas de Ecuador, Perú y Bolivia.
Durante los años 1993 a 1999 he participado en diferentes estados como Arizona, Nevada (Las Vegas), Nuevo México, Hawai y California con los Indios Nativos Norte Americanos en donde siempre hay intercambio de manifestaciones culturales.
