Hi, welcome to my photo site. Here, I hope to present specific galleries of interest to you while showcasing the broad range of photography that interests me. I invite you to wander and browse through out the site, and come back often to see what's new and what's different as I am constantly out shooting, often in new exciting environments. If, by chance, you see something you would like to own on this website, there is an option at the top of each picture to buy the photo in the size you wish, or feel free to contact me for a custom print or managed rights use, or just to say hi and leave a comment.
A little ( maybe a little too much ) about me:
I've been very involved with photography since adolescence. I built my first darkroom at 12 yrs old and got my first SLR at 13. In junior high and high school I shot for the school papers and the yearbooks. In college I got a taste of the arty/academic side of photography. I also started to work in the darkroom in exchange for access to it. There I got into developing and processing color slides, film, and prints. This is when I became really serious about learning all I could about an ever expanding world of photography. Over the next several years I worked on my color processing skills in the darkroom, set up a studio to learn about lighting, tried medium format (4x5), started doing multi-media production, and did a lot of travel related photography. Eventually, I put serious photography to the side while I got married and started a family and built a construction business. Photography remained a hobby on the side until 2002. This was when, in my opinion, digital photography overtook conventional film technology in quality and control, and started to be accessible from a cost standpoint. Computers became fast enough and printers became good enough that the old chemical darkroom could be replaced with a whole new set of tools on one's desk. The improved control and amazing possibilities with the digital darkroom and cameras have continued to grow and improve at an astounding rate and I have been completely sucked into the vortex. I have spent all my free time for the last 6 years and counting, relearning the craft of photography from a digital perspective.
I enjoy all the different aspects of photography and am fairly well diversified. I shoot wildlife and nature for the beauty and exhilaration of the natural world. I shoot landscapes and cityscapes for the quiet, contemplative qualities found there. I shoot studio and architectural interiors for the technical challenges and creative freedom they bring. I shoot people and portraiture in the search for the essence of human experience. And I shoot events for the diverse challenges they afford with the opportunities they offer.
I am available for hire for almost any type of photographic need, from event (sporting or social) to portraiture (formal or casual) , to studio (product or model), to documentary (construction site or corporate), to architectural. I offer extensive processing and retouching skills and large format printing in house. Output is available in print or digital formats. I'm also happy to help one on one with any area of the digital workflow for beginners to intermediate users.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to request a proposal.
Thanks for looking,
Stuart
