#718392. Sublime with Rome
Last year the founding members of Sublime, drummer Bud Gaugh and bass player Eric Wilson, joined forces with new frontman singer/guitarist Rome and after a successful year of touring in 2010, “Sublime with Rome” is ready to go into the studio in early March. Following their month and a half in the studio, they will also be preparing to hit the road in time starting in April through the rest of 2011.
The trio has confirmed Paul Leary is locked to produce the next installment of the legacy. Leary is best known as the guitarist for the band Butthole Surfers, and has also produced a number of songs and albums by other bands, including U2, Sublime, the Meat Puppets, Daniel Johnston, The Reverend Horton Heat, Maggie Walters, Bad Livers and The Refreshments. Pre-production has already begun and will continue in Orange County, CA at the end of February before heading to TX in early March to begin recording the much anticipated album. “This is an unbelievable moment in time for not only me but for Bud and Eric. Over the past year, we have grown a solid bond and shared some great experiences. The guys and I have a grip of mind blowing music and we are heading to Texas to do the album with Paul Leary-- how sick is that! I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on. Can’t wait to get back out there and play for our most radical fans ever.” –Rome A portion of the early spring dates listed below have been announced. Many more will be confirmed in the coming month, including an extensive summer tour.
