Dave’s songwriting was taking a turn toward the dark side of country music, so he assembled a roots-based acoustic line up. Pedal steel and fiddle texture the songs, as do moody guitar and bluesy harmonica. Fran Betlyon, a stunning young singer was added as well to fill out the close Everly Brothers-style harmonies.
