Description: History From Headstones project has transformed the Ulster Historical Foundation's (www.AncestryIreland.com) unique archive of graveyard transcriptions into a online database that is accessible through the WEB. The web site includes a range of interactive case studies (using pictures, sound and video) on notable graveyards across Northern Ireland. Providing an important study and teaching tool that will promote interest in and knowledge of Irish History whilst at the same time developing new literacy and creative literacy skills amongst both adults and children. The site provides an online bookstore, searchable genealogical databases for cemeteries and gravestone inscriptions.
